About PayPal USD
- Rank #39
- Networks: 4
PayPal USD (PYUSD) is PayPal's dollar stablecoin, issued by the regulated trust company Paxos. It is backed by US dollar deposits, short-term US Treasuries and cash equivalents and is redeemable for dollars 1:1.
People swap PYUSD to take it out of PayPal or Venmo into their own wallet and turn it into another coin, or to move it between Ethereum, Solana and Arbitrum.
Paxos issues PYUSD itself on three networks: Ethereum (since 2023), Solana (since 2024) and Arbitrum (since 2025). On other blockchains PYUSD0 circulates through LayerZero — a compatible version with a different contract. A recipient expecting PYUSD may not credit PYUSD0, so check both the network and the token.
On Ethereum and Arbitrum the recipient address is the same — 0x and 42 characters — so it does not tell you the network. On Solana an address is a string of 32–44 letters and digits. PYUSD on Solana uses the newer Token-2022 standard (Token Extensions), separate from the classic SPL Token. Older wallets and some services do not show such tokens or cannot send them. The first time a wallet receives the token, a token account is created for it, paid by the sender in SOL.
As a regulated issuer, Paxos can freeze an address and remove PYUSD from it when the law requires. On Ethereum the contract has a dedicated role for that; on Solana it is done through Token-2022 extensions, including a permanent delegate.
When withdrawing from PayPal, the network is chosen in the app and has to match the recipient network in the form. Network fees are paid in ETH on Ethereum and Arbitrum and in SOL on Solana. An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds, Arbitrum and Solana blocks in a fraction of a second. PYUSD needs no memo.

SupportNo. Registration, verification and documents are not required — all you need is the wallet address the funds will arrive at.
Available networks: Polygon, Arbitrum, Ethereum, Solana. The network is chosen in the exchange form — make sure the recipient address belongs to the same one.
An address on the network you picked in the form: for Ethereum and Arbitrum, a 42-character 0x address; for Solana, a Solana address in a wallet that supports Token-2022. A 0x address fits both EVM networks, so check which one the recipient's wallet or exchange expects.
An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds; Arbitrum and Solana produce blocks in a fraction of a second. With confirmations, a PYUSD transfer takes from a few seconds to a few minutes; the rest depends on the selected route.
Any coin in the catalogue — pick it in the "You receive" field. Popular PayPal USD directions are listed further down this page.
PYUSD on Solana is a Token-2022 token, and not every wallet supports that standard. Open the address in a Solana explorer: if the token is there, import the wallet into an app that supports Token-2022.
PYUSD0 is the version of PayPal USD for networks it reaches through LayerZero; it is worth the same dollar, but its contract is different. An exchange or wallet expecting PYUSD may not credit PYUSD0.
