UNUS SED LEO (LEO) is the token of iFinex, the company behind the Bitfinex exchange. LEO holders get lower fees on Bitfinex, and iFinex regularly buys tokens back from the market and burns them — as it has pledged, until the whole supply is redeemed. The main version of LEO is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.

LEO trades mostly on Bitfinex, so it is often swapped straight from a wallet: to get out of LEO withdrawn from Bitfinex, or to get the token without opening an account there.

Here LEO is exchanged on Ethereum: it is an ERC-20 token, contract 0x2af5d2ad76741191d15dfe7bf6ac92d4bd912ca3. It is received on a regular Ethereum address: 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters, 42 in total. Letter case does not matter.

Since launch, a second version of LEO has been issued on EOS, the network renamed Vaulta in 2025. It is a separate token with different addresses: on EOS and Vaulta the recipient is an account name of up to 12 characters — lowercase Latin letters, the digits 1 to 5 and dots — rather than a 0x string. Such a name will not work in the address field for LEO on Ethereum.

When withdrawing LEO from Bitfinex, pick the Ethereum (ERC-20) network. LEO withdrawn to Vaulta will not reach an Ethereum address, and vice versa. A memo is needed only on Vaulta, when depositing to an exchange; on Ethereum the address is enough.

The fee for a LEO transfer is paid in ETH. In a wallet with no ETH, incoming LEO cannot be sent on. If the wallet does not show the token, add it by its contract address rather than by name: fake tokens with the LEO ticker do turn up.

An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds, and recipients usually wait for a few more confirmations. Crediting LEO takes minutes.
