NEAR Protocol is a sharded blockchain with human-readable account names such as alice.near. NEAR pays for gas and for the deposit covering the space an account and its data take up on the network; a block comes roughly every 600 milliseconds.

NEAR is often swapped to fund a new account: without coins on the balance it cannot pay gas or receive tokens such as USDC on NEAR.

NEAR has two kinds of addresses. A named account looks like name.near: lowercase Latin letters, digits, hyphens and underscores, 2 to 64 characters, with a dot separating a sub-account. An implicit account is 64 hexadecimal characters without a 0x prefix: it is a public key, and exchanges and new wallets usually hand out such addresses.

A named account has to be created first. A transfer to a name that does not exist fails, and the coins go back to the sender. If the name exists but belongs to someone else, the coins go to its owner — check the whole name, including the .near suffix. An implicit account appears by itself on the first incoming transfer, so a typo in a 64-character address is dangerous: the money goes to an account nobody holds the key to.

Part of a NEAR balance is locked to pay for storing the account's data (storage staking), so you cannot send the whole balance down to zero: the wallet keeps a small reserve. Tokens such as USDC on NEAR also require a storage deposit for each recipient; usually the wallet or the sender pays it.

A NEAR block comes roughly every 600 ms, and a transfer is final in about 1.2 seconds. Gas is paid in NEAR, and a plain transfer uses only a tiny amount.

NEAR also exists as a token on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. Those need a 0x address on the selected network and gas in ETH or BNB; such a token will not arrive at a name.near account. A transfer to a personal wallet needs no memo.

  4. 4

Press "Exchange" and send NEAR Protocol to the address you get.

  5. 5

After the route is confirmed, funds are sent to the address you provided; timing depends on the provider and network.

  6. 6

Keep the exchange code in case you need to check the status or contact support.

Networks

NEAR networks

The receiving address must be on the same network you chose in the form. An address from another network won't work — the transfer will fail.

No. Registration, verification and documents are not required — all you need is the wallet address the funds will arrive at.

Available networks: NEAR Protocol, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain. The network is chosen in the exchange form — make sure the recipient address belongs to the same one.

A NEAR account name like name.near or an implicit address of 64 hexadecimal characters. A named account must already exist. If the form is set to Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain, you need a 0x address on that network.

A NEAR block comes roughly every 600 ms, and a transfer is final in about 1.2 seconds. The rest depends on the selected route.

Any coin in the catalogue — pick it in the "You receive" field. Popular NEAR Protocol directions are listed further down this page.

If no such name exists, the transfer fails and the coins come back. If the name exists but belongs to someone else, the coins go to them, and getting them back depends entirely on their goodwill.

A small part of the balance is locked to pay for storing the account's data. It is released only when the account uses less storage or is deleted.

Choose the coins, networks and amount. The service compares available offers so you can select a route and enter your receiving address. Review the terms, create the exchange and send funds to the provided address on the specified network. Processing is automatic, and you can track the exchange with its code in the same interface, without registering.

Open support on the site and provide your exchange code. This lets us find the transaction, check its stage and help with a delay, an error or the terms of a possible refund. Keep your code and transfer details. No account is needed to contact us; never send private keys or a seed phrase.
