Paxos Gold (PAXG) is a token where each unit stands for one troy ounce of gold in London Good Delivery bars held by Paxos, a regulated trust company. The token's main blockchain is Ethereum, and in 2026 Paxos also launched PAXG on Solana.

PAXG is often swapped to move gold between Ethereum and Solana — for example, when Ethereum fees are too noticeable for a small amount — or to take the token off an exchange into your own wallet.

PAXG on Ethereum and PAXG on Solana are different tokens from the same issuer. PAXG sent on one network will not show up on the other, so the form asks for the network separately, and the recipient address must belong to it.

On Ethereum, PAXG is an ERC-20 token with a 0x address of 42 characters. BNB Smart Chain and layer-2 networks use the same address format, so the wallet must be switched to Ethereum specifically. The network fee is paid in ETH. The PAXG contract also has a built-in fee on the token transfer itself: it used to be 0.02%, and Paxos currently keeps it at zero.

On Solana, PAXG is issued under the Token-2022 standard. The address is a string of 32–44 letters and digits with no prefix. For the token to land in a wallet, it needs a token account: the sender usually creates it on the first transfer, paying for that and the transaction in SOL. Without SOL in the wallet, received PAXG cannot be sent on.

An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds, a Solana block in under a second. A personal wallet needs no memo on either network. Like other regulated issuers, Paxos can freeze an address when the law requires it.
