About USDS
- Rank #13
- Networks: 4
USDS is the stablecoin of the Sky protocol, formerly MakerDAO, launched in 2024 as DAI's successor. Its price is held by backing inside the protocol — loans against crypto collateral, stablecoins and tokenized Treasuries — and DAI converts into USDS 1:1 both ways.
People swap USDS to move it between Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and Solana, or to take it off an exchange into their own wallet.
USDS's home network is Ethereum. It reaches Base and Arbitrum through Sky's official bridge (SkyLink) and Solana through Wormhole: on each of these networks it is the same stablecoin, but with its own contract, and tokens on different networks do not cross over by themselves. The USDS contract on Solana starts with the letters USDS, which makes the real token easy to tell from a fake.
The recipient address on Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum is the same — 0x and 42 characters — so a wrong network choice does not show in the address. On Solana an address is a string of 32–44 letters and digits. The first time a Solana wallet receives USDS, a token account is created for it, paid by the sender in SOL.
USDS is easy to confuse with other Sky tokens. DAI is the older stablecoin; it converts into USDS 1:1, but to a wallet or an exchange it is a different token. sUSDS is USDS deposited at the Sky savings rate: its value against USDS grows over time, and it has to be withdrawn back to USDS before a swap. Unlike DAI's immutable contract, the USDS contract is upgradeable: Sky governance can change the token's rules.
Fees are paid in the network's coin: ETH on Ethereum, ETH on Base and Arbitrum — always on that same L2 — and SOL on Solana. An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds, Base and Arbitrum blocks within seconds or faster, Solana blocks about every 0.4 seconds. USDS needs no memo.

FAQ

SupportNo. Registration, verification and documents are not required — all you need is the wallet address the funds will arrive at.
Available networks: Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum, Solana. The network is chosen in the exchange form — make sure the recipient address belongs to the same one.
An address on the network you picked in the form: for Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum, a 42-character 0x address; for Solana, a Solana address. A 0x address fits all three EVM networks, so check which one the recipient's wallet or exchange expects.
An Ethereum block comes every 12 seconds; Base, Arbitrum and Solana produce blocks in a fraction of a second to a couple of seconds. With confirmations, a USDS transfer takes from a few seconds to a few minutes; the rest depends on the selected route.
Any coin in the catalogue — pick it in the "You receive" field. Popular USDS directions are listed further down this page.
DAI is the protocol's older stablecoin; it converts into USDS 1:1 on the Sky site, but has its own contract. sUSDS is USDS earning the savings rate, so one sUSDS is worth more than one USDS and keeps growing. A swap needs plain USDS.
Yes, if it is your own wallet: the 0x address on Base and Arbitrum is the same as on Ethereum. With an exchange it is different: a deposit address may work on one network only, so pick in the form the network the exchange specified.
Choose the coins, networks and amount. The service compares available offers so you can select a route and enter your receiving address. Review the terms, create the exchange and send funds to the provided address on the specified network. Processing is automatic, and you can track the exchange with its code in the same interface, without registering.
Open support on the site and provide your exchange code. This lets us find the transaction, check its stage and help with a delay, an error or the terms of a possible refund. Keep your code and transfer details. No account is needed to contact us; never send private keys or a seed phrase.
