How to withdraw money from Bitget to your own wallet: step-by-step guide, fees and the schedule after the hack

After the September 24 hack, Bitget is reopening withdrawals in phases: Bitcoin can already be withdrawn, ETH reopens on September 29, USDT on the 30th and all other coins on October 2. Here's how to withdraw crypto from Bitget to your own wallet on the website and in the app, which network to choose for each coin, what it costs and what to do if your withdrawal won't go through.

A staircase of glowing glass steps runs from an exchange tower down to a hardware wallet, with coins making their way down it

When will Bitget withdrawals reopen? Schedule by coin

CoinNetworksWhenStatus
Bitcoin (BTC)Bitcoin, BNB Smart ChainSep 28Open
Ether (ETH)Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Base, OptimismSep 29, 08:00 UTCScheduled
Tether (USDT)Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, TRONSep 30, 08:00 UTCScheduled
Other coins, fiat and P2PAll othersOct 2, 08:00 UTCScheduled

The schedule is the same for everyone — regular users, VIPs, institutional clients and employees: there's no separate channel and no priority, and you don't need to do anything in advance. The first Bitcoin withdrawals may sit in "Under Review" status for a long time: the exchange puts this down to slow blocks on the Bitcoin network and asks users not to take any action. For what Bitget's CEO said about the hack and how much BTC was withdrawn in the first hour, see our news story on how Bitget reopened BTC withdrawals after the hack.

What to check before you withdraw from Bitget

  • Your own wallet on the right network. The coins go to an address whose keys you hold. If you don't have a wallet yet, start by figuring out where to withdraw crypto from an exchange and which wallet to choose — it'll take ten minutes.
  • Verification. Since July 20, 2024, Bitget hasn't allowed any withdrawals without Level 1 identity verification (KYC) — neither to an external address nor via internal transfer. Verification usually takes up to an hour. If you got an email in September asking you to re-verify, you have 30 days to do it; after that, the exchange may restrict trading and withdrawals.
  • Leave your security settings alone. Changing your password, email, phone number, Google Authenticator or fund code locks withdrawals and P2P for 24 hours. Logging in from a new device blocks withdrawals on that device for an hour.
  • Two-factor authentication. Bitget's help center lists Google Authenticator as required for withdrawals, and you can also add a passkey. SMS works too, but Bitget itself recommends the first two options.
  • Available balance. Coins in open orders, copy trading, Earn and P2P can't be withdrawn: close the order or take the coins out of the product first. You can't withdraw from a sub-account — move the coins to your main account; it's free and instant.

How to withdraw from Bitget on the website: step by step

  1. Click the profile or wallet icon in the top-right corner and select "Withdraw."
  2. Search for the coin.
  3. Paste your wallet address or scan its QR code. If you want to swap the coin right away, this is also where you paste the deposit address a cryptocurrency exchange gave you for your order.
  4. Choose the network — the same one your receiving address is on.
  5. Enter the amount: the form instantly shows the fee and how much will arrive in your wallet.
  6. Click "Withdraw" and confirm the transaction. Bitget may ask for your fund code, an email code, an SMS code and a Google Authenticator code or passkey — which steps you get depends on your device and IP address.
  7. Track the status in your withdrawal history under "Assets": that's also where the TxID appears — the transaction ID you can use to find it on the blockchain.

How to withdraw from the Bitget app

  1. At the bottom of the screen, open "Assets" and tap "Withdraw."
  2. Select the coin and choose "On-chain withdrawal."
  3. Paste the address or tap "Scan QR code" to scan your wallet's code.
  4. Choose the network and enter the amount — the fee and the amount you'll receive show up right away.
  5. Tap "Withdraw" and complete the confirmation steps.

Your withdrawal history in the app is under "Assets" → "Spot" → the "History" icon → "Withdraw." That's also where you can see if a withdrawal failed.

Which network to choose for BTC, ETH and USDT

  • Bitcoin — the Bitcoin network. The receiving address starts with bc1, 1 or 3. On BNB Smart Chain, Bitget won't send actual Bitcoin but a BEP-20 BTCB token to a 0x… address: it's a wrapped token, and it's only worth choosing if you're going to keep using BNB Smart Chain.
  • Ether — Ethereum or a layer-2 network. Withdrawing ether (ETH) on the Ethereum network is the most expensive option. Arbitrum, Base and Optimism are tens to hundreds of times cheaper, and you use the same 0x… address there, but your wallet has to support these networks. ETH on BNB Smart Chain is a wrapped token too.
  • USDT — match the receiving wallet. The cheapest options are BNB Smart Chain and Solana, followed by TRC20 and ERC20. The biggest mistake isn't overpaying but picking the wrong network: ERC20 and BEP20 addresses both start with 0x. Our guide on which network to choose for a USDT transfer explains in detail how the networks differ and what to do if your USDT went to the wrong one.

Memo and tag: XRP, XLM and TON-network coins

  • Bitget withdraws XRP and XLM with a tag (Destination Tag) or memo. The tag is required when you send to another exchange, but usually not needed for your own wallet.
  • Forget the tag, and your money will reach the receiving exchange but not your account. You'll have to sort it out with that exchange, and Bitget can help by filing a request, possibly for a fee; this usually takes about seven business days.
  • Since June 15, 2026, Toncoin has been called GRAM on Bitget. If you're sending GRAM or USDT on the TON network to another exchange, check whether it requires a comment.

If your transfer has already gone out without a tag, check out our breakdown of why an XRP, TON or XLM transfer doesn't arrive without a memo and how to get your money back on different exchanges.

Bitget withdrawal fees and minimums

Deposits to Bitget are free, while withdrawals cost a flat fee. It depends on the coin and network, changes when the blockchain is congested and is shown in the form before you confirm.

These figures come from Bitget's public API as of September 28, 2026, so double-check them in the form before you withdraw. An internal transfer to another Bitget account is free. The daily withdrawal limit depends on your VIP level: since July 2025, it ranges from 3 million USDT for a regular user to 20 million for VIP7.

How long does it take to withdraw from Bitget?

  • Usually a few minutes. It takes longer when the network is congested or if your transfer gets flagged for an extra review. Bitget doesn't disclose how long such a review lasts.
  • Bitcoin waits for blocks. On average, the Bitcoin network produces a new block once every ten minutes, so during the reopening days, "Under Review" status on BTC withdrawals is perfectly normal.
  • An internal transfer is instant, but you can't cancel it.
  • A regular withdrawal can be canceled within one minute: this setting is on by default on Bitget.

Why can't I withdraw from Bitget? Common reasons

  • The network is closed. Until the phased reopening is over, during network maintenance or after a coin is delisted.
  • You're not verified. Without Level 1 KYC, you can't withdraw at all.
  • You recently changed your password, email, phone or 2FA. Withdrawals are locked for 24 hours, and for an hour after you log in from a new device.
  • The amount is below the minimum. Every coin and network has its own minimum.
  • Your coins are tied up. Orders, P2P, copy trading and Earn lock up your balance.
  • The coins were bought on P2P. There's a hold of T+24 or T+48 hours (T+60 minutes for the ruble market), and it can't be lifted early.
  • It's a sub-account. Transfer the coins to your main account first.
  • The address doesn't match the network. The form won't accept such a withdrawal, or it will fail. But ERC20 and BEP20 addresses look identical: a withdrawal on the wrong network will go through, and your coins will end up somewhere other than where you expect them.

How to avoid scams while withdrawals reopen

  • There's no such thing as a "fast-track withdrawal." The schedule is the same for everyone, and real support never asks for your seed phrase, 2FA codes or a payment to "unlock" your funds.
  • Check who you're talking to. Bitget has an official channel verification page that shows whether an account, website or employee is genuine.
  • Turn on the anti-phishing code. It appears in every genuine email and SMS from the exchange except verification codes, so you can spot a fake instantly.
  • Enable the address whitelist. Then withdrawals can only go to addresses in your address book, even if someone gains access to your account.

What to do with your coins after withdrawing

Coins in your own wallet no longer depend on anyone, and you can put them to work right away. Withdrew ETH but would rather hold Bitcoin? You can exchange ETH to BTC without registration straight into your own wallet. If privacy matters more, you can swap USDT TRC20 to Monero. With VertEXchange you don't need an account for this: the coins arrive straight at your address, not on a balance that someone else's exchange could freeze.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Bitget not letting me withdraw?

Most often, the network is still closed per the schedule, your account isn't verified, or you recently changed your password, email or 2FA — in which case withdrawals are locked for 24 hours. Check the list above: it's almost always one of those reasons.

How long does a Bitget withdrawal take?

Usually a few minutes, plus the time needed for network confirmations. During the reopening days, Bitcoin can stay in "Under Review" status longer — the exchange asks users not to do anything.

What is the Bitget withdrawal fee?

A flat fee that differs by network: as of September 28, it's 0.00002 BTC on the Bitcoin network, 1.5 USDT on TRC20, 2 USDT on ERC20 and 0.01 USDT on BEP20. The form shows the exact amount before you confirm.

Can I withdraw from Bitget without KYC?

No. Since July 20, 2024, Bitget hasn't allowed withdrawals without Level 1 KYC — neither to an external address nor via internal transfer.

What is the Bitget daily withdrawal limit?

It depends on your VIP level: 3 million USDT per day for a regular user and 20 million for VIP7.

What is a Bitget internal transfer?

It's a transfer to another Bitget account by email, phone number or UID. It's free and instant, but you can't cancel it, and the coins stay on the exchange — just with someone else.

Can I cancel a Bitget withdrawal?

Yes, within one minute of confirming it: withdrawal cancellation is on by default on Bitget. An internal transfer can't be canceled.

How do I withdraw from a Bitget sub-account?

Not directly: first transfer the coins to your main account through sub-account management — it's free and instant — and then withdraw as usual.

When will Bitget reopen ETH and USDT withdrawals?

ETH on September 29, USDT on September 30, and other coins, fiat and P2P on October 2 — each time at 08:00 UTC.

Was Bitget Wallet affected by the hack?

No. Bitget Wallet is a separate self-custody app, and the exchange hack didn't touch it.

Is it safe to keep money on Bitget after the hack?

The user protection fund covered the loss, and the exchange puts its proof of reserves at 127%. But any exchange means someone else holds the keys: keep only what you need for trading there and your savings in your own wallet.

Withdrew your coins? Swap them right away

No account needed: swap the coins you withdrew — ETH for Bitcoin, USDT for Monero — and get them straight to your own wallet.
