About Avalanche
- Rank #28
- Networks: 2
Avalanche (AVAX) is a blockchain made of several chains: the C-Chain runs Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and tokens, the X-Chain handles asset transfers, and the P-Chain covers validators and staking. AVAX is the shared coin of all of them, and on the C-Chain it pays for gas.
AVAX is usually swapped to get gas on the C-Chain — without it, USDC and other Avalanche tokens cannot leave the wallet — or to move coins from an exchange to your own wallet.
The same AVAX coin has different addresses on different chains. On the C-Chain the address looks like Ethereum's: 0x and 40 hexadecimal characters. On the X-Chain and P-Chain addresses use the bech32 format with the X-avax1 and P-avax1 prefixes. Nearly all wallets, exchanges and swap services work with the C-Chain, and a swap needs the 0x address.
A regular transfer cannot move AVAX between chains: an X-avax1 address will not accept a transfer from the C-Chain. The Core wallet has a cross-chain transfer for this, done in two steps — export from one chain and import into the other. If your coins sit on the X-Chain or P-Chain, move them to the C-Chain first.
A 0x address is the same on the C-Chain, Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, so the network is easy to mix up. On BSC, AVAX is a BEP20 token, and the gas for moving it is paid in BNB. Pick the network the recipient expects: coins sent to your own regular wallet can be reached with the same key on the other network, while from an exchange address only its support can return them.
C-Chain blocks come within a couple of seconds or faster, and a block is final as soon as it is accepted: there are no reorgs as on networks with probabilistic finality. So confirming AVAX takes seconds. The fee is paid in AVAX and rises when the network is busy. A transfer to a wallet needs no memo.

Avalanche networks
The receiving address must be on the same network you chose in the form. An address from another network won't work — the transfer will fail.
FAQ
Didn't find an answer? Open support and give your exchange code — we'll find the operation and help you sort it out.
SupportNo. Registration, verification and documents are not required — all you need is the wallet address the funds will arrive at.
Available networks: Avalanche C-Chain, BNB Smart Chain. The network is chosen in the exchange form — make sure the recipient address belongs to the same one.
A C-Chain address: 0x and 40 hexadecimal characters, the same as on Ethereum. X-avax1 and P-avax1 addresses will not work. If the form is set to BNB Smart Chain, you need a 0x address on that network, and AVAX arrives there as a BEP20 token.
A C-Chain block is final as soon as it is accepted, and blocks come within a couple of seconds or faster, so an AVAX transfer is confirmed within seconds. The rest depends on the selected route.
Any coin in the catalogue — pick it in the "You receive" field. Popular Avalanche directions are listed further down this page.
In the Core wallet: a cross-chain transfer consists of an export from the source chain and an import into the C-Chain, and the wallet signs both steps. A regular transfer from an X-avax1 address to a 0x address will not work.
C-Chain gas is paid only in AVAX. If the wallet holds USDC or other tokens but no AVAX, top it up with a little AVAX on the C-Chain first.
Choose the coins, networks and amount. The service compares available offers so you can select a route and enter your receiving address. Review the terms, create the exchange and send funds to the provided address on the specified network. Processing is automatic, and you can track the exchange with its code in the same interface, without registering.
Open support on the site and provide your exchange code. This lets us find the transaction, check its stage and help with a delay, an error or the terms of a possible refund. Keep your code and transfer details. No account is needed to contact us; never send private keys or a seed phrase.
