About Stellar
- Rank #21
- Networks: 1
Stellar (XLM) is a blockchain for payments and token issuance, stablecoins included. Its coin, the lumen, pays fees and serves as the account reserve; a ledger closes roughly every 5 seconds, and a transfer in it is final right away.
Lumens are often bought to set up a Stellar wallet: without a reserve in XLM the account does not exist on the network, and each trustline to a token, such as USDC on Stellar, needs another 0.5 XLM of reserve.
A Stellar address starts with G and consists of 56 capital Latin letters and digits. There are also muxed addresses starting with M, 69 characters long: they already carry a numeric ID, so they need no memo. Another format is the federation address in the form name*domain, which the wallet turns into a G address by itself.
Exchanges receive XLM at a shared address and tell users apart by the memo. When depositing to an exchange, enter the memo from its instructions; otherwise the transfer reaches the exchange but not your account, and only its support can recover it. A memo can be text or a number (ID), and the type must match the instructions too. A personal wallet needs no memo.
A Stellar account exists only while it holds a minimum balance. The base reserve is 0.5 XLM; a new account holds two reserves, that is 1 XLM, plus 0.5 XLM for each trustline and other entry. So the first transfer to a new address must be at least 1 XLM, and the balance cannot be withdrawn down to zero: the reserve stays on the account.
A ledger closes roughly every 5 seconds, and a transaction included in it is final: there are no extra confirmations to wait for. The base fee is 0.00001 XLM per operation.

Stellar networks
The receiving address must be on the same network you chose in the form. An address from another network won't work — the transfer will fail.

Available networks: Stellar. The network is chosen in the exchange form — make sure the recipient address belongs to the same one.
Your Stellar wallet address: it starts with G and is 56 characters long. If you are receiving to an exchange, you also need the memo from its instructions — or an M address that already contains it.
A Stellar ledger closes roughly every 5 seconds, and a transfer is final as soon as it is in a ledger: the XLM transfer itself takes seconds. The rest depends on the selected route.
Any coin in the catalogue — pick it in the "You receive" field. Popular Stellar directions are listed further down this page.
The transfer reaches the exchange's shared address but is not linked to your account. Only the exchange's support can recover it, using the transaction hash.
At least 1 XLM: two base reserves of 0.5 XLM each. The network rejects a smaller transfer to a new address. Each trustline to a token adds another 0.5 XLM to the reserve.
Choose the coins, networks and amount. The service compares available offers so you can select a route and enter your receiving address. Review the terms, create the exchange and send funds to the provided address on the specified network. Processing is automatic, and you can track the exchange with its code in the same interface, without registering.
Open support on the site and provide your exchange code. This lets us find the transaction, check its stage and help with a delay, an error or the terms of a possible refund. Keep your code and transfer details. No account is needed to contact us; never send private keys or a seed phrase.
